I’ve always been a little nerdy. When I was a kid, my dad would write math problems on the paper napkins at restaurants to keep me entertained, and I loved it!

I’ve always liked solving problems that looked complicated–because I liked spotting the patterns, removing the fluff, and breaking things down so they actually made sense.

In college, I studied psychology—not math—but I kept coming back to helping people with math. I tutored students in Calculus at the University of Notre Dame, and over time I started seeing what actually helped things stick. I’d notice where students were getting confused, rework the explanation, and suddenly the lightbulb would go on.

Eventually, I started sharing those explanations on YouTube. I thought maybe a few people would find them helpful. But thousands of students started showing up, saying things like, “Why didn’t anyone explain it like this before?”

So I built Krista King Math, the resource I wish I’d had:
